Corporate accountabilities:
- To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.
- To comply with data protection legislation and the council’s Information Security Policy, including supporting policies.
- To be willing and able to work in a flexible and agile way with regard both to hours of work and location of work, including remote and home working, as required, subject to service needs and requirements.
- To participate in performance development, talent reviews and one-to-ones and to contribute to the identification of your own and team development needs and goals.
- To actively promote and comply with the council’s diversity and equality policies.
- To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc., the council’s Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
- To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 ‘Duty of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder’
- At the discretion of the senior management, to undertake other activities as, from time to time, may be agreed consistent with the grade and nature of the role.
- To undertake and maintain relevant mandatory training in line with legislation.
Key service accountabilities:
- To receive families and visitors to the Family Hubs/Children’s Centre in a warm and friendly manner.
- To provide information, advice and guidance to families to support their needs.
- To take telephone calls in a courteous manner and to signpost to the relevant person to meet the needs of the families.
- To support the engagement of families in Children’s Centre services within the 0-19 model.
- To undertake admin duties as required by the Family Hub/Children’s Centre manager and Family Hub/Children’s Centre Lead.
- To promote the Start for Life Offer for 0-2s and the other services that the Family Hubs will be offering to children aged 0-19s (25 if SEND) across the three localities and to be responsible for the social media which enhances the promotions.
- To support the Family Hub/Children’s Centre staff who will be delivering a wide range of high quality universal and targeted support to families in conjunction with partner agencies either on a one to one basis or in group settings.
- To attend training as required.
- To be adept in using the Family Hub/Children’s Centre Management Information Systems (computerised and manual systems) that will provide a variety of statistics, reports, monitoring, and data to meet requirements and needs where required.
- To participate in relevant meetings as required.
- To aim to deliver an outstanding Family Hub/Children’s Centre service, which will contribute to the service being rated at least as ‘Good’ by Ofsted or the Local Authority Quality Improvement Partner.
- To ensure the Health and Safety requirements for the premises and staff are met in line with Thurrock Council Polices and Protocols.
- To be flexible to work across the Local Authority and across the 3 Family Hub locations to meet the diverse needs of Thurrock’s children and families.
