We have a fantastic job opportunity for an experienced Team Manager to lead Liverpool City Council’s Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Team within the Children and Young Peoples Service, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of children are well understood and are promoted in all aspects of their lives.

As the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Team Manager you will be responsible for the management, development and leadership of the social work team in order to ensure that children who have a plan for adoption are matched and successfully placed with an adoptive family. You will supervise and support staff case holding children both searching for and placed in an adoptive placement up to the making of the Adoption Order and co-ordinate future support post Adoption Order. You will lead the Special Guardianship Support Team to provide a specialist support service to families where children have achieved permanence through a Special Guardianship Order, Residence Order and/or Child Arrangement Order.

You will also promote stable, long-term successful guardianship placements so that children can develop to their full potential. Finally, you will be responsible in ensuring the team delivers a high quality service that addresses need and leads to improved outcomes, whilst managing the reputation of the Service and the Council.
