Southwark council are looking for for someone to  Deliver the agreed FM services to an allocated departmental portfolio of buildings to ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory legislation, providing building users an optimum working environment that fully supports the council’s modern ways of working as importantly are service users living or receiving services in council properties. Provide efficient, effective and economic advice and support acting as the intelligent client  to the non-housing Council estate within the corporate facilities management (CFM) operational property portfolio.

 

responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with customers at all levels within the council to understand and
    interpret their short, medium and long term business needs in a timely and efficient
    manner ensuring CFM departmental policies and procedures are fully adhered to
    and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are maintained. Ensure that all Health and
    Safety regulations, statutory legislation and council policies are adhered to by
    corporate facilities management staff and support contractors while working on or in
    Council property
    2. Manage and support a team of Area Facilities Officers to ensure that all operational
    buildings are properly inspected and audited, checking and reviewing in respect of
    property maintenance, compliance, condition and safety
    3. Respond to emergency or urgent property management issues when escalated by
    the Area Facilities Officers, seeking to resolve them as quickly and as cost effectively
    as possible

    4. Ensure the site based emergency procedures manual follows the same principles as
    the Tooley Street model and covers; fire, bomb, flood, suspicious package, lift
    entrapment and utility failure, in relation to the designated operational buildings
    5. Ensure that the FM operations manager is regularly briefed on performance,
    operational building compliance, works or repair progress and given timely advice and
    updates on options and their implementation
    6. Specify and commission repair, maintenance and improvement works on behalf of the
    head of FM operations and the FM operations managers up to an appropriate budget
    level
    7. Lead on the implementation of all Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to provide an
    optimum working environment as agreed with departmental clients
    8. Deliver and support all site-based customer/client related facilities management
    services to ensure that staff are adequately accommodated and supplied to meet their
    business needs in line with financial & departmental policy. Responsible for premises
    management in operational buildings and ensuring that they are maintained to a safe
    secure working environment for both staff and visitors
    9. Monitor and control delegated budgets up to a value of £250k and provide analysis
    on spend profiles by liaising with the FM operations manager and the cfm business
    finance manager.
    10.Support CFM’s strategic objective of developing its capacity as an intelligent client
    by assisting in the provision of high quality and timely, property-related management
    and performance data at the site operations level
    11.Liaise and consult with the CFM Technical team on property matters requiring input
    from building surveyors, quantity surveyors, architects, or mechanical electrical and
    plumbing (MEP) engineers
    12.To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the job as may be
    requested from time to time

Payrate: £20.69 umbrella
