Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor / Electrical Supervisor

Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, and inspection services across the organisation’s housing and property portfolio. The DLO Electrician will ensure all electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current regulations, while providing excellent service to residents, internal teams, and partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Works
• Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and minor installation works in domestic and associated properties
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults effectively and safely
• Undertake electrical works in occupied and void (empty) properties

Testing, Inspection & Compliance
• Conduct periodic inspections and testing (EICRs)
• Carry out portable appliance testing (PAT)
• Complete electrical surveys and safety inspections
• Identify non-compliances and recommend remedial works
• Ensure all works meet current Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)

Documentation & Reporting
• Accurately complete certification, reports, and job records
• Provide clear technical feedback to supervisors and internal teams
• Use internal systems to record work completed and follow-up actions

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
• Deliver a professional, courteous service to residents and staff
• Communicate clearly with tenants regarding works being undertaken
• Liaise effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and partner organisations

Out of Hours & Emergency Work
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required
• Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to ensure safety and service continuity

Health, Safety & Compliance
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
• Use tools, equipment, and PPE correctly
• Maintain a safe working environment for residents, colleagues, and the public

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical installation and/or maintenance
• Proven experience working in domestic or property maintenance environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Essential Qualifications
Electrical Installation (must hold one):
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation + AM2
• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2
• City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3
• City & Guilds 2365 Levels 2 and 3 + AM2
• City & Guilds 2357 + AM2
• Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346) + AM2E
Inspection & Testing (must hold one):
• City & Guilds 2391 Periodic Inspection and Testing
• City & Guilds 2395 Inspection and Testing
Wiring Regulations:
• City & Guilds 2382-18 or 2382-20 (18th Edition)
Driving Requirements
• Full UK driving licence
• No more than 6 penalty points
• No serious motoring offences in the last 10 years
• Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience

Other Requirements
• Willingness to work across Berkshire and Surrey
• Flexibility to undertake out-of-hours and emergency work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
