Summary

We are looking to recruit an Environmental Health professional for a fixed term position
You will join our existing teams who work out of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

The role offers the chance for you to utilise a wide range of skills and knowledge whilst
managing your own workload, both proactively and reactively. This will be a key role within
the service as you work with our teams to provide targeted advice over a range of areas
including licensing, smoke free and food hygiene legislation to our businesses whilst
delivering targeted Public Health messages including advice on infection control, personal
hygiene Healthy Catering Commitment and smoking cessation. This role also provides an
opportunity to become involved in the Kingston Schools Superzone project.

About you

We are seeking someone with experience of the wide remit of an Environmental Health
service. We would like to hear from you if you are an Environmental Health professional or
graduate in a related subject and can demonstrate competency as required by the Food Law
Code of Practice and low risk food hygiene inspections and who has recent experience of
health and safety regulation.

You will be organised, diligent and flexible. Excellent record keeping and communication
skills are essential as is the ability to work on your own initiative. You will have an eye
for detail and be comfortable working independently, under pressure and with changing
priorities.

We offer very agile working facilities with up-to-date messaging and video technology
provided by Google applications. You will be expected to work the majority of time out in
the field minimum 3 days inspections with the opportunity for hybrid working at home to
complete administrative tasks. You must have access to transport. It is desirable that you
have a full driving licence and business insurance.

You will be able to access flexible working spaces in Kingston’s Guildhall Complex
for printing and other paperwork activities

Pay rate: £38.45 per hour

Three to six months contract with view to extend or make permanent
