Neighbourhood Manager (Arb, Hort and Bereavement) – Facilities & Environment

Redbridge Council are looking for an neighbourhood manager To develop, lead and manage specialist Bereavement, Arboriculture and Grounds Maintenance Services on behalf of the Council in accordance with Council Policies, Government guidelines and all relevant legislation.

 

  • Contributing to the strategic management of the Council’s Neighbourhood Street Scene
  • Contributing and leading when required to the development of council polices and strategies in relation to bereavement, arboriculture and grounds maintenance.
  • To manage the six staff within the bereavement, arboriculture and grounds maintenance service including one direct report, ensuring that the service is legally compliant, provided in accordance with service standards set, and reflects best industry practice.
  • To devise and implement training and development plans for staff, monitoring and assessing in accordance with council guidelines.
  • To implement effective contract management procedures for the bereavement, arboriculture and grounds maintenance contracts
  • To participate in and, where appropriate, to chair officer service improvement groups and working parties, which will facilitate the development and implementation of the Neighbourhood Street Scene
  • To represent the Council at external and internal meetings, working parties, resident forums etc.
  • To assist in the monitoring of service performance and develop stretching performance indicators in respect of all those services within the remit of the post, to maintain processes to measure the attainment of these targets and to devise and discuss corrective action if targets are not met.
  • Responsible for operational budgets relevant to specialist area including an expenditure budget of around 1.2m

Payrate: £38.60 per hour
