Role Purpose:
To lead and manage a team of night support workers, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and care of residents during night shifts. You will oversee all aspects of night operations, maintain high standards of care, and respond to emergencies efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Allocate shifts and tasks for night staff, ensuring coverage across weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Supervise and support night staff, providing guidance and resolving issues as they arise.
- Resident Care:
- Update and maintain night care plans and risk assessments.
- Administer medication safely and in line with care plans when required.
- Conduct regular night checks on residents to ensure safety and wellbeing.
- Operational Duties:
- Write daily reports detailing observations, incidents, and actions taken.
- Carry out health, safety, and security checks throughout the night.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, providing leadership and support.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure all night operations comply with organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety regulations.
- Promote a positive, professional, and safe environment for both staff and residents.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience in care planning, risk assessment, and medication administration
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions during emergencies
- Knowledge of health, safety, and safeguarding practices
Working Pattern:
- Night shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, in line with the organisational shift rota.
