Summary:
Cardiff Council are recruiting for an exciting new role as part of our new Out of Hours Team.
The Interventions Hub is essential in helping families get the right help at the right time. That’s why we are creating an out of hours support team in Children’s Services. This will enable vulnerable children, young people and families can receive emergency support outside of normal office hours.
This team will have a dual function in providing family support and residential support in line with the Right Place.
We are looking for an experienced Social Work practitioner to manage a team of Intervention Support Workers in the newly formed out of hours team.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape practice and performance in the team, you will support the Team Manager and the team in delivering a high-quality service.
Within the team you will take the role of Team Leader, working with the Intervention Hub Service Manager, supporting and encouraging good practice, targeted interventions and embodying a positive team culture that is strength based and family focused. You will work alongside the Service Manager to help in managing the performance and development of the out of hours team to ensure quality services to children in need and their families.
You will be responsible for providing supervision to all staff within the team and manage the allocation of work. You will be required to outcome referrals, manage risk, and organise the running of the team and the workforce in line with Intervention processes and protocols.
You will be responsible for Managing staff in accordance with the Policies and procedures of Cardiff Council.
You will oversee the delivery of direct interventions with families and using initiative and flexibility to be creative with work.
You will need to be a registered Social Worker, have excellent skills in assessment and the ability to write concise records and reports. Being a good team player with excellent communication and organisation skills is vital for this role.
Pay rate: £26.24 per hour umbrella
Three to six months contract with view to extend or make permanent
