Residential Care Officer Level 1 – Children’s (G5) – Social Care Non-Qualified

PAYE: £13.690 per hour

Limited/Umbrella: £17.39 per hour

 

Shifts will be 10am until 10pm. Shifts will be on a needed basis and planned in advance with worker.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in a safe and homely environment? We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and help deliver highly personalised care tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Role Highlights:

  • Create a positive and respectful environment where young people feel valued and safe.
  • Provide emotional and personal care, empowering young people to reach their full potential.
  • Work as part of a dynamic team to provide high-quality care in a residential setting, supporting children and young people through daily activities and in the community.
  • Assist with health care needs, including medication administration and attending appointments.
  • Act as a key worker, liaising with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to ensure each child’s care plan is followed.
  • Support young people in managing challenging behaviour, using positive approaches to promote safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care that respects the dignity and privacy of each young person.
  • Administer medication, maintain accurate records, and support health needs.
  • Work flexibly to meet the changing needs of young people.
  • Engage young people in physical, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties and ensure the home remains a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Mentor new staff and take on leadership roles when required.

  • A dedication to your professional development, including completing a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care.
