The role with Notts County Council is for a Payment Assistant within CYPPT (Childrens and Young People Payment Team) which consists of six members, five payment assistants and a line manager.
The team are responsible for processing payments for all the looked after children that are cared for by NCC and those living with friends and family. The team support three different service areas for children looked after: Fostering, Permanence and Placements service.
• Fostering Service – Payment requests for fostering placements are received via an internal system and processed and liaising with social work teams. This part of the role will be worked on a rota.
• Permanence Service – Review forms are sent out to Adoption and Kinship carers. Once returned a means test assessment is carried out using the information provided on the forms. From there, payments will be set up/debt recovery. Team members are allocated carers from which they are to manage and liase with.
• Placements Service – Using an internal software package to create shopping carts / processing invoices / liaising with external stakeholders and NCC colleagues. Team members are allocated vendors and will look after their accounts.
Training and support will be given.
Hours can be flexible if needed. Start time is between 8-9am and finishing between 4-5pm.
For the first 3-6 months the successful candidate will be working in the office. Once competent/confident in the role there will be the option of working from home on set days. The role is for 12 months initially.
The teams office base is County Hall.
Umbrella hourly rate : £15.29
