Job Details

The Contracts, Investment and Compliance (CIC) Team sits within the Housing directorate and is responsible for managing repairs and maintenance within the Council’s social housing stock. The remit of the service includes: ensuring that the housing stock is well-maintained, safe and fully compliant with all current regulations (e.g. gas, asbestos, fire safety etc), managing void properties and working closely with our contract partners to effectively deliver a repairs and maintenance service, including extensive investment and refurbishment schemes.

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to provide advice, guidance and support in relation to repairs and electrical safety. 

1. Lead research, special investigations and service improvement projects or support others in project work, including performance management, contract management of providers and ensuring delivery is within the allocated budgets.

2. Co-ordinate the day to day administration of the service and projects including managing the timetable, record keeping, document maintenance and development

3. Ensure actions from projects are rolled out successfully, this will include checking quality and auditing of processes if relevant

4. Administer contracts, including certification of applications for payment, issue of instructions, monitoring and control of project expenditure, and issue of certificates of practical completion

5. Monitor a budget with considerable expenditures

Requirements:

Experience of conducting inspections within customers’ homes, in specific relation to repairs and/or electrical installations.

Substantial experience of working with repairs and electrical safety processes and procedures

Experience of working with people within a customer focused, service delivery organisation

Experience of working effectively in a housing related or other public service environment

Umbrella hourly rate : £27
