About the Role:
Ensure the provision of a responsive, outcome focused and cost effective Environmental Health Service with direct responsibility as Team
Leader for managing work allocation, delivering and improving Camden’s Food Safety Service.
The post holder will be self-motivated, and committed to lead and drive improvement, taking personal responsibility for ensuring the delivery of
an effective customer focussed service across the Council and the Borough.
Perform the role of lead officer for Food Safety delivering and providing guidance on complex casework with a working knowledge of legislation.
The post holder will keep up to date with legislative and regulatory developments and communicate this to the team ensuring that the impact on
the service is communicated and planned for and relevant training is identified and evidenced where required. Ensure that the competency
framework requirements in the Food Law Code of Practice is implemented.
Allocate work of the team and to undertake own food safety standards and hygiene casework as necessary such as food premises inspections
including site visits.
Support the Environmental Health Manager to manage, develop and deliver specific and cross-service projects, policy, research on areas of
expertise and functional casework activity within the service.
Initiate and propose service improvements and support the Environmental Health Manager to deliver service improvement and developments in
line with Camden procurement guidance, as appropriate.
Identify learning from external sources to improve strategic delivery of the Food Safety Service and encourage team members to do the same.
