PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of the role is to undertake daily scanning, collation and assessment of information and intelligence on a wide range of activities to brief operational teams associated with Community safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation. Identify demand Management issues such as peaks in customer demand, repeat complaints etc. and bring to the attention of service delivery managers.

Working with the Partnership Strategic Analyst & Performance Manager, the post holder will have a key role to play in ensuring that the frontline teams and managers are well informed about service issues and prevention opportunities. This will enable operational decision makers to make informed, evidence based decisions that will improve safety and standards across the borough.

The post holder will support the service to be intelligence led, reduce demands and be customer focused. This may range from identifying issues and problems and seeking solutions to these problems through effective tasking processes and systems.

The post holder will act as the link through the Partnership Strategic Analyst and Performance Manager for communications campaigns and initiatives to reduce / prevent crime and ASB

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Scanning, collating, and assessing crime/ASB, environmental, licensing and regulatory incidents/events/reports over the past 24 hours (72 on a Monday)
• Liaising with the Police Local Intelligence Team, Council enforcement and regulatory service officers to co-ordinate police and other tasking’s for the day ahead
• Producing a summary of events, significant incidents and service requests
• Presenting the summary at a Weekly Tasking Meeting
• Recording and disseminating actions from the Weekly Tasking Meeting
• Producing a Tasking and Briefing report based upon the above and deployment decisions made at the Weekly meeting. The Tasking and Briefing report to set out the deployments for all patrol staff for the next week on each shift, together with a summary of incidents and an intelligence briefing.
• Collating updates on previous day(s) activities prior to each Weekly Tasking Meeting
• Reviewing incidents of the last 7 days, summarise deployments, and outcomes in terms of patrols, further incidents and enforcement activity undertaken.
• The post holder will be required to meet regularly with the police Local Intelligence Team to best co-ordinate police and council enforcement deployments.
• To recommend SMART actions that focus operational resources at problem locations, repeat victims, and offenders in order to reduce and control crime & disorder (including environmental crime), reduce victimisation and offending as related to the responsibilities of the service.
• To make recommendations for continued improvement on delivery of effective and efficient services and assist analysts with service evaluations.

Umbrella hourly rate – £27.12
