Bromley council are looking for Senior traffic and parking engineer To assist in the development, management and delivery to time and within budget of projects and programmes within the Council’s responsibility as the Highway, Traffic and Parking Authority.
- To prepare designs, drawings, technical/committee reports, public consultation material, contract documents, tenders, bid documents, presentations and briefings as required and where appropriate attend meetings with other services, departments and outside bodies.
- To support colleagues across the wider team in providing professional engineering advice and comments to Elected Members, members of the public, developers and other agencies relating to the Council’s Highway Authority functions.
- Utilising creative and innovative design abilities to ensure safe, satisfactory and sympathetic solutions and outcomes.
- Designing and delivering a range of projects and programmes relating to:
- Traffic Management;
- Road Safety planning and management;
- Highway Engineering;
- Parking Schemes;
- Regeneration and Planning projects;
- Other transportation initiatives, including EV charging points and Car Club bays.
- To ensure that robust project management procedures are utilised for all projects assigned to the post holder to ensure effective delivery within budget and deadline
- To work to a consistently high standard and take such action as is necessary to ensure that the work of the service delivers a high quality service which complies with systems developed to demonstrate quality, internal and external assessment and client feedback. To ensure continuous progress to the delivery of “Best Value” services for the people of Bromley.
- To support and assist management to develop new initiatives for the team, including working in partnership with internal and external providers, agencies, developers, etc.
- Prepare technical, business and committee reports on traffic and parking issues and other related matters. Deal with all correspondence within agreed timescales.
- Keeping abreast of, responding to, championing and assisting with the development of local guidance and technical standards issued in central government circulars, advice, initiatives and good practice.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department/Section.
£36 to £42 per hour
