About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Contact Centre as a Customer Service Officer. You will be the first point of contact for residents and stakeholders, handling enquiries across phone, email, webchat, and social media.
You will support a range of council services such as Recycling and Waste, Environmental Services, Planning, and more, ensuring customers receive accurate information and their issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues at first point of contact
- Handle complaints and service requests professionally and empathetically
- Use internal systems to log and manage customer interactions
- Provide clear advice and guidance across multiple council services
- Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality customer service
About You
- Experience in a customer service role, ideally in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Good IT skills and ability to use multiple systems
- Organised, adaptable, and able to work well in a team
