About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Contact Centre as a Customer Service Officer. You will be the first point of contact for residents and stakeholders, handling enquiries across phone, email, webchat, and social media.

You will support a range of council services such as Recycling and Waste, Environmental Services, Planning, and more, ensuring customers receive accurate information and their issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues at first point of contact
  • Handle complaints and service requests professionally and empathetically
  • Use internal systems to log and manage customer interactions
  • Provide clear advice and guidance across multiple council services
  • Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality customer service

About You

  • Experience in a customer service role, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy
  • Good IT skills and ability to use multiple systems
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to work well in a team
