Job Details

Work Pattern: 37 hours per week, Mon – Fri

PAYE Pay Rate: £15.31 per hour

Main Purpose

To work directly with young children aged 0–5 and their families, helping improve school readiness, learning, development and access to support services.

Typical Duties

  • Deliver one-to-one and group sessions with children and families.
  • Plan and deliver play-based learning and development activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Support children with communication, language, speech and listening development.
  • Work with families in Family Hubs, community venues and family homes.
  • Identify children and families who may need additional support and signpost them to appropriate services.
  • Complete assessments and contribute to Early Help plans.
  • Maintain accurate records using systems such as Early Help Modules and Liquidlogic.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside partner agencies.
  • Engage families and encourage them to participate in Family Hub services.
  • Attend team and operational meetings and contribute to service planning.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years/Childcare.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly vulnerable groups.
  • Experience planning and evaluating activities or programmes.
  • Knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use IT systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team.
