We are looking to employ a Safeguarding Independent Living Assessor to support the Safeguarding Function within the Adult Social Care Directorate, ensuring the service provided is effective and delivering positive outcomes.
Our Safeguarding Mash team is an exciting and dynamic place in which to work. The Team is focussed on reviewing statutory safeguarding adults’ enquiries. To provide expert advice and guidance to managers and practitioners across Health and Adult Social Care on all aspects of adult Safeguarding, including the application of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Making Safeguarding Personal.
The team you will support ensures that the aims of Making Safeguarding Personal are embedded in all interventions. You will support on promoting practice that focuses on achieving meaningful improvement to people’s circumstances, to ensure adults people are treated as experts in their own lives.
To support the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and to work to progress the Board’s strategic priorities. To promote partnership working with, health, the police, community, provider organisations and other professionals to support individuals using a person-centred approach and results in the best experience possible
The successful applicant will be required to work within a strength-based approach to support people to maximise their independence to remain living in their own homes and communities.

The Safeguarding Team (MASH) provides a central point for safeguarding adult concerns in H&F. The Safeguarding Team operates 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday. The Team is responsible for triaging safeguarding referrals, undertaking information gathering and decision whether to progress to a safeguarding section 42 enquiry. The Team takes immediate action to minimise risk; provides expert advice and support to residents, carers; colleagues and partners and represents the Council at multi agency meetings and forums.
