Work Pattern: Wednesday and Thursday to be office days Friday working from home, 22.25 hours per week

PAYE Pay Rate: £22.22 per hour

 

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the Resident Involvement Manager in delivering an effective resident engagement service. The role is responsible for leading resident involvement activities, promoting co-production, ensuring residents have a voice in shaping housing services, and demonstrating how resident feedback drives service improvements in line with regulatory requirements.

Typical Day Overview

  • Supporting and deputising for the Resident Involvement Manager when required.
  • Managing and supporting the Resident Board and resident involvement activities.
  • Working with residents, housing teams, council departments and external partners to improve services.
  • Organising consultations, engagement events, surveys, meetings and resident feedback activities.
  • Reviewing resident feedback and performance data to identify improvements.
  • Preparing reports, presentations and updates for senior managers, councillors and stakeholders.
  • Supporting projects that encourage co-production, customer insight and community involvement.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the Resident Involvement Strategy and action plan.
  • Promote resident engagement, co-production and customer-led service improvements.
  • Build positive relationships with tenants, leaseholders, staff, senior leaders and external partners.
  • Support resident scrutiny activities, including surveys, estate visits, tenant inspections and feedback sessions.
  • Monitor and evaluate resident involvement activities and measure their impact.
  • Ensure resident views influence service design, policies and improvements.
  • Manage budgets relating to resident involvement activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on effective engagement approaches.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion within resident engagement activities.
  • Produce clear reports, briefings and presentations for a range of audiences.
  • Supervise and support resident involvement staff to ensure effective performance.

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications

  • Experience of working in resident involvement, customer engagement, community engagement, housing or a similar public sector environment.
  • Experience of developing and delivering engagement strategies or improvement plans.
  • Strong understanding of co-production, consultation and customer insight approaches.
  • Experience of working with residents, stakeholders and senior managers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Experience of preparing reports, analysing feedback and presenting information.
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Driving license
  • Standard DBS check

Desirable:

  • Experience within social housing or local authority services.
  • Knowledge of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards.
  • Experience supporting resident boards, scrutiny panels or tenant participation groups.
