 PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:  

To provide comprehensive HR and administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle, helping to create a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with HR policies and employment legislation, and deliver an excellent employee experience that supports the organization’s strategic goals.

ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Provide professional administrative assistance across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, training, and development.
  • Provide advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Support in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures, ensuring that activities are effectively designed to support organisational aims and needs and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Assist in employee relations activities, such as taking minutes in meetings, preparing letters and supporting employee relations activities and processes.
  • Provide appropriate, reliable and timely advice and guidance, carry a personal caseload and cover the workload of the other Co-ordinators as required, and promote cross-functional activities within the wider team.
  • Input and maintain employee data in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Process and create pre-employment documentation, DBS applications, offer letters, and contracts to support recruitment activities.
  • Assist in supporting change management initiatives in accordance with policy and procedure, contributing to designated special projects as required across the wider team.
  • Assist in the analysis, interpretation and quality assurance of all data and information relating to the HR function.
  • Maintain positive relationships, liaison links and networking opportunities with key stakeholders, external organisations, groups and individuals to effectively diversify the workforce and support the communities that we serve.
  • Responsible for the production of reports and documents, including monitoring data and information to evidence the provision of a high quality service, across the Service, and identify improvements.
  • Participate in development activities to ensure all IT based management information systems are appropriate to the needs of the function.
  • Participate in all relevant People and Culture activities and attend internal and external events as requested by the Employee Relations and Compliance Manager and Head of People and Culture.
  • Work effectively and efficiently to support line management in the delivery of the department’s aims and objectives.
  • Responsibility for maintaining own continuous professional development and knowledge of best practice through local and national networking, attendance at internal and external training courses, and other developmental activities as necessary.
  • Continually review processes to identify and recommend areas for improvement

  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be directed by the Chief Fire Officer from time to time.

 PAYE Pay Rate – £15.31 per hour

Weekly Hours – 37.00 (Mon-Fri) (9am till 5pm)
