Location: Kettering, NN16 0SW / Northampton, NN1 1ED – REMOTE
Pay: £14.00 per hour PAYE
Hours: 22 hours per week, 3 days per week
Contract: 3 months initially
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Flexible start and finish times, with remote working available once trained

About the Role

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust is looking for an organised and detail-focused Administrator (Minute Taking) to support Children’s Services by producing accurate and timely records of statutory meetings.

You will listen to recordings of meetings such as Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews, producing clear and structured minutes that accurately capture key discussions, decisions, actions and outcomes.

The role is initially office-based for a 2-day induction, after which the work can be carried out remotely. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be comfortable handling sensitive and confidential safeguarding information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to recorded statutory children’s meetings and produce accurate minutes.
  • Record key decisions, actions and outcomes using set templates.
  • Ensure minutes are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Upload and maintain records on Liquidlogic and other internal systems.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive safeguarding information professionally.
  • Work closely with the wider minute-taking team.
  • Attend regular virtual team catch-ups and monthly team meetings.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous minute-taking, transcription or audio-typing experience.
  • Excellent listening, written communication and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Emotional resilience when working with sensitive subject matter.
  • Previous experience within Children’s Services, social care or safeguarding is desirable but not essential.

Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will complete a 2-day onsite induction, with equipment provided for remote working afterwards.

Working hours are flexible and can be either:

  • 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • 9:00am – 5:00pm
