Children’s Social Worker – Children’s Services
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a Children’s Services team, managing a varied caseload and supporting children and families where there are safeguarding and welfare concerns.
You will work with cases across Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), Children Looked After (CLA) and Care Proceedings, ensuring children are safeguarded and their needs are appropriately assessed and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and families in line with statutory requirements.
- Undertake assessments and identify risks, needs and appropriate interventions.
- Manage Child Protection and Child in Need cases and develop effective plans.
- Support and monitor Children Looked After, including care planning and statutory visits.
- Prepare reports and provide evidence for Care Proceedings and court hearings.
- Work closely with parents, children, schools, health professionals, police and other partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory deadlines and safeguarding procedures are met.
- Promote positive outcomes and ensure the voice and best interests of the child remain central to all decisions.
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced Children’s Social Worker with strong statutory children’s social care experience. You should have a proven background in CP, CIN, CLA and/or Care Proceedings, with the ability to manage complex cases and make sound professional decisions.
A Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration are required.
