Job Title: Client Affairs Officer (Adult Social Care Finance)
Location: Hammersmith & Fulham (Hybrid / Agile Working)
Contract: 3-6 months – Part time
About the Role:
We’re looking for a dedicated Client Affairs Officer to manage and protect the finances, property, and estates of vulnerable adults who are unable to do so themselves. Working within the Adult Social Care Finance team, you will act as an appointee or deputy under the Court of Protection and ensure that clients’ financial interests are safeguarded in line with legislation and Council policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage clients’ financial affairs under appointeeship and deputyship arrangements.
Ensure all benefits and income are claimed, collected, and properly recorded.
Reconcile client accounts and oversee payments for care and living costs.
Protect and manage client property and personal belongings.
Liaise with social workers, solicitors, banks, and external agencies.
Support estate administration and Council-arranged funerals where required.
About You:
Experience managing client finances, ideally within a local authority or public sector setting.
Knowledge of appointeeship, deputyship, or Court of Protection processes.
Strong communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.
Empathy and professionalism when working with vulnerable adults.
Confident using IT systems (Excel, databases, financial software).
