Families First Communication Engagement Officer
Location: Nottingham (2–3 days onsite)
Sector: Children’s Services / Local Authority
We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Communication Engagement Officer to support the Families First programme within Children’s Services.
The successful candidate will lead on developing engaging communications and outreach activities that connect families, young people, and community partners with available support services. This role will involve creating accessible content across digital and print platforms, coordinating engagement events and campaigns, and building strong relationships with schools, charities, health services, youth groups, and local stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering communications and engagement campaigns across multiple channels
- Supporting community outreach and participation activities
- Building partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders
- Gathering feedback from families and young people to support service improvement
- Supporting internal communications and consistent messaging
- Monitoring engagement activity and reporting on impact
Ideal candidates will have experience within communications, community engagement, outreach, participation, or stakeholder engagement roles, preferably within local government, children’s services, charities, NHS, or public sector environments.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
Candidates should be local to Nottingham or able to commute regularly.
