PAYE: £13.26 per hour
Fully Remote is acceptable, ideally 1 day per week in the office would be ideal.

About the role: 

To undertake administration tasks in order to maintain accurate member data to calculate and pay pension benefits to a specific category of membership. Works under general instruction and guidance.

About you: 

  • Experience of the use of IT packages e.g. MS Office, MS365 with strong IT skills. Familiarity with Excel is crutial.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding and awareness of quality assurance skills
  • A basic working knowledge of LGPS.
  • Educated to aleast GCSE (or equivalent) in English, Maths and ICT.
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as using your own initiative

 

What you will do:

  • As a Data Quality Assistant within the Pensions service area, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of pension data. Your primary responsibility will be to cross-reference and match employer and pension-held data, ensuring all information is correct and up to date. This role involves manipulating data between different systems, contributing to the smooth operation of our pension services.
  • To maintain working knowledge of relevant Pension Scheme Regulations, procedures and other statutory arrangements and to their revisions as necessary

Your responsibilities will be:

  1. To assist with the pensions administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme and, in accordance with the appropriate regulations. including checking applications for payment of benefits, transfers and aggregations are complete in readiness for processing by the Pensions Assistants or Pension Officers.

     

  2. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of membership data and benefits on the pensions administration system for all active, deferred and pensioner members of the LGPS, including the interpretation of new starter and change in circumstances information and the issue of relevant information and documentation to all leavers within set timescales, as set by the disclosure of information regulations.

 

  1. Responsible for checking and verification of member data as supplied by employers, prior to undertaking calculations and amendments to membership data in respect of the following calculations and processes for a specified set of members.

     

  2. Responsible for the calculation in respect of the member allocation including:

     

  • Aggregations of LGPS benefits in line with the technical guidance
  • Perform and check benefit calculations of Final Salary and Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme member benefits
  • To be able calculate and record service for McCloud underpin protections.

 

DBS:

Because of the nature of the work involved, the post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check.
