Job Title: Director of Commissioning

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join us as Director of Commissioning, leading the development and delivery of integrated health and adult social care services across Tower Hamlets. This is a pivotal role responsible for shaping a high-performing, person-centred system that improves outcomes for residents and delivers value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic commissioning of health and adult social care services across the borough
- Drive integration across the Council, NHS and partner organisations through Tower Hamlets Together
- Oversee significant pooled and departmental budgets, ensuring effective and sustainable use of resources
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies that improve quality, performance and outcomes
- Build strong partnerships with elected members, NHS leaders, providers and the voluntary sector
- Ensure services are safe, high-quality and meet all statutory and safeguarding responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performing commissioning teams
About You
- Proven senior leadership experience in commissioning within local government, the NHS or a related setting
- Strong track record of delivering integrated health and care services and system-wide transformation
- Experience managing large, complex budgets and driving value for money
- Skilled in partnership working across organisational boundaries
- Strong strategic, political and stakeholder management skills
- Commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality services
