Travel Requirements: Significant / Regular

Working Hours:

  • Flexible approach required
  • Some weekends, evenings, standby and call-out duties
  • May include some lone working

Job Purpose

To provide an effective electrical maintenance and repair service that meets contractual obligations and customer expectations.


About the Organisation

This role sits within Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited (SMCL).

SMCL is responsible for delivering high-quality and cost-effective property repairs, refurbishments, estate services, gas servicing, installations, and maintenance services across the UK for both internal and external clients.

The job holder must ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and equality & diversity responsibilities at all times.

This profile is not exhaustive, and other duties requiring similar skill levels may be required.


Key Accountabilities

(All duties must be carried out in line with policies, procedures, relevant legislation, and regulations.)

  1. Carry out electrical installations, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with contract and service specifications.
  2. Provide accurate and timely updates on job progress, ensuring customers receive clear and understandable advice.
  3. Maintain accurate daily work records.
  4. Respond positively to service complaints or breakdowns, ensuring customer expectations are met.
  5. Resolve problems directly or initiate appropriate solutions while keeping customers informed throughout the process.
  6. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working order and stock levels are replenished according to procedures and budgets.
  7. Contribute to special projects and change programmes that support the organisation’s objectives.

 

Qualifications & Attainments

Qualification Essential Desirable
City & Guilds qualification, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience as an Electrician (Part P and 17th Edition preferred)
Health & Safety certification (e.g. CSCS card, Health & Safety Passport)
BS2391 or equivalent testing and inspection certification
PAT Testing certification
Full, current driving licence

Work Experience

Experience Essential Desirable
Recent experience in a similar electrical role
Experience working to deadlines and managing workload priorities
Ability to analyse faults and implement effective solutions
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Experience working to NICEIC standards

Skills Required

Good understanding of written and spoken English
Strong communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA devices) for scheduling work
