Employability Adviser – Communities for Work Plus

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Employability Adviser to join the Communities for Work Plus team and support the delivery of Vale Employability, helping local residents overcome barriers and move closer to sustainable employment.
You will work closely with individuals who are currently not in employment, providing tailored job search support, mentoring, guidance and practical assistance to help them achieve their employment and personal development goals.
You will manage your own caseload and take a holistic, person-centred and collaborative approach, working with each individual to understand their circumstances, identify barriers and develop realistic plans for progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of clients and provide personalised employability support.
- Develop comprehensive support and individual action plans, with regular reviews and updates.
- Provide one-to-one job search support, mentoring and employment guidance.
- Identify and address barriers to employment, including skills, confidence, education, training and personal circumstances.
- Support clients to access training, education, skills development and employment opportunities.
- Identify training needs and contribute to the delivery of appropriate training for individuals and groups.
- Participate in the Communities for Work Plus triage process, ensuring clients receive appropriate support and referrals.
- Build positive relationships with clients, employers, training providers and partner organisations.
- Work collaboratively with voluntary, statutory and private-sector organisations to improve opportunities for local residents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and databases in line with programme requirements.
- Ensure information is handled securely and in accordance with data protection and information-sharing requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Communities for Work Plus programme.
- Support wider community engagement and activities aimed at tackling poverty and improving employment outcomes.
About You
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, organised, proactive and committed to helping people achieve their potential.
You will ideally have experience in:
- Employability, employment support, careers, mentoring or advice work.
- Supporting individuals with multiple or complex barriers to employment.
- Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate client records.
- Developing action plans and monitoring individual progress.
- Providing one-to-one support, coaching or mentoring.
- Working with partner agencies and community organisations.
- Supporting people into employment, education, training or further development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build trust and establish positive relationships with a diverse range of clients.
