Location: 2nd Floor, Nutgrove Villa, Westmorland Road, Huyton, Merseyside, L36 6GA, United Kingdom with hybrid working (3 days office based, 2 days remote per week)
Salary: £42,839 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: Up to 36 hours per week

Main Purpose of the Role
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will work with children, young people and families to promote their safety, wellbeing and development.
You will assess children and families, identify risks and needs, create care plans and work with families and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
You will manage your own caseload and ensure that the child’s needs, wishes and feelings are at the centre of your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the needs, strengths and risks of children and families.
- Safeguard children and respond to concerns about abuse or neglect.
- Develop and review care and support plans.
- Manage a caseload and keep case records up to date.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
- Listen to and advocate for children and young people.
- Work with schools, health professionals, police and other agencies.
- Attend meetings, reviews and child protection conferences.
- Complete reports, assessments and other required documentation.
- Make professional decisions about risk and safeguarding.
- Take part in supervision and professional development.
- Follow social work legislation, policies and professional standards.
- Contribute to improving services and outcomes for children and families.
Typical Day – Overview
A typical day involves managing your caseload, visiting children and families, completing assessments, responding to safeguarding concerns and attending meetings.
You may speak with children and parents, work with schools and other professionals, update case records, write reports and review care plans. You will also have supervision to discuss complex cases and develop your practice.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Recognised Social Work qualification – BA/BSc, MA/MSc or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Relevant experience in children’s social care is expected.
- Experience of safeguarding, assessments and working with children and families.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
