Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative
We are seeking a reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to undertake maintenance work across parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas, and public open spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grass cutting, hedge trimming, gardening and general grounds maintenance.
- Maintenance, marking and upkeep of sports pitches (natural, synthetic and artificial).
- Cleaning of parks, playgrounds, changing rooms, toilets and public areas.
- Safe use of machinery, hand tools, tractors, light plant and trailer equipment.
- Carry out playground visual inspections and record findings.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures, COSHH regulations and safe systems of work.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are safe, roadworthy and maintained.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or similar outdoor work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using hand tools, powered machinery and maintenance equipment.
- Full driving ability; trailer towing desirable.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
Desirable:
- NPTC PA6A certification
- First Aid qualification
