About the Role

As part of a team of skilled professionals, you will:

  • Assess new and existing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, including complex cases
  • Review changes in circumstances and make informed decisions on entitlement
  • Identify and recover overpaid benefits in line with regulations
  • Verify information to minimise fraud and ensure accuracy
  • Provide clear advice and support to customers, including vulnerable individuals
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, landlords, and external partners such as the Department for Work and Pensions

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support regulations
  • Has experience in financial assessment or benefits processing
  • Demonstrates excellent numeracy and attention to detail
  • Can manage a busy workload and meet performance targets
  • Has strong communication skills and can handle sensitive or challenging situations professionally
  • Is confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
