Liverpool City Council are looking for an Independent Reviewing and Child Protection Officer (IRO).

If you want to work with both Looked After Children and Children and families who are subject to child protection planning, then consider joining us in Liverpool.

This is an exciting opportunity as we move into the new safeguarding model, for those with experience of being an IRO/Child Protection Chair or those with a proven track record of chairing decision making meetings.

Not only will you be overseeing and reviewing plans in child protection and for those in care, but you will be responsible for facilitating a range of other specialist meetings.  You will enjoy working in partnership with other agencies across the city.

This is a large team with 3 very accessible and highly supportive managers who will support remote and agile working. You will be able to manage your own diary whilst working to return to face-to-face meeting and visiting children/families where they are living.

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and review Child Protection and Looked after Children plans
  • To visit children and families and promote their involvement in the plan and review process
  • To chair a range of specialist meetings on behalf of children services including SUDIC, harmful Practices and disruption Reviews.

Payrate: £45.00 umbrella
