Position Requirements
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly reliable Learning Support Assistant to work closely with children with Special Educational Needs across our primary school provision. This role is ideal for a skilled practitioner who has significant experience supporting children with autism and/or complex needs and who is committed to making a meaningful difference to children’s daily lives and long-term development. The successful candidate will work across year groups within both mainstream classrooms and specialist provision, supporting children with a wide range of differing and complex needs. They will be proactive in identifying barriers to learning, adaptable in responding to individual needs, and confident in using a calm, positive, and nurturing approach at all times. A strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and experience of working with children with communication, sensory, social, emotional, and behavioural needs is essential. The role requires someone who can build trusting, consistent relationships with children and provide a stable and reassuring presence throughout the school day. The successful applicant must have experience of working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and be confident in supporting children to work towards their individual targets through tailored strategies and interventions. They should be able to work effectively as part of a wider team, communicating professionally with teachers, SEND staff, and external professionals to ensure children receive the highest quality support.
