Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Maintenance Coordinator to support the delivery of housing repairs and maintenance services across our portfolio of over 5,000 council-owned homes. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you will play a key part in ensuring residents receive an efficient, high-quality repairs service.

You will act as a central point of contact, working closely with residents, internal teams, and contractors to ensure repairs are accurately diagnosed, effectively scheduled, and completed in line with service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose repair requests raised by residents and internal/external stakeholders through various channels
  • Schedule and allocate repair jobs to appropriate trades, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximising productivity
  • Manage repair cases from initial report through to completion, ensuring compliance with council policies and procedures
  • Monitor open work orders, ensuring timely progress and closure once completed
  • Maintain accurate records, including identifying and resolving duplicate or unnecessary orders
  • Provide regular updates to residents, ensuring clear communication and excellent customer service
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Housing Service and wider Council

About You

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering high-quality service
  • Ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions when diagnosing repair issues
  • Comfortable using IT systems and telephony platforms
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience within housing, property maintenance, or a repairs service environment
  • Knowledge of housing maintenance processes (e.g. responsive repairs, voids, planned works)
