Job Title: Maintenance Support Officer
Location: Mainly remote (occasional office attendance required)
Reporting to: Team Leader
Role Overview
The Maintenance Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the housing repairs service by coordinating repair requests, liaising with contractors and residents, and ensuring timely and effective resolution of maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the housing repairs inbox, triaging and allocating enquiries to the appropriate teams
- Raise purchase orders and process invoices using internal systems (e.g. NEC, Business World)
- Contact tenants to discuss repair issues and arrange inspections or access
- Liaise with contractors (e.g. CARDO) to resolve queries such as access, contact details, and job requirements
- Provide essential property information (e.g. asbestos surveys) to support repair works
- Collate and submit disrepair information for legal purposes
- Arrange inspections with surveyors and coordinate with residents
- Submit out-of-hours reports to contractors where required
- Respond to enquiries from tenants and leaseholders via phone and email
Skills & Experience
- Experience within housing, ideally social housing or a local authority
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Experience liaising with contractors and residents

Additional Information
- Predominantly home-based with occasional office attendance for meetings
- Flexibility required to ensure service coverage throughout the day
- Training will be provided where necessary
