About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join our busy Children & Families MASH Team on a 3-month locum basis. You will play a key role in safeguarding children by assessing referrals, analysing multi-agency information, and supporting timely and effective decision-making at the front door of children’s services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Screen and triage safeguarding referrals within the MASH in line with statutory guidance
  • Analyse information from multiple partner agencies to assess risk and need
  • Provide clear professional recommendations on next steps for children and families
  • Work collaboratively with police, health, education, and other safeguarding partners
  • Manage complex and high-risk cases requiring senior-level decision-making
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
  • Contribute to safeguarding outcomes through effective information sharing and analysis

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s safeguarding
  • Strong understanding of MASH/front door processes
  • Excellent risk assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
