As part of a team providing business support to Social Care and Education Services, you will play a key role in supporting Family & Children’s Services by delivering an effective referral screening and administrative support service. The post involves handling highly sensitive and confidential information, acting as a first point of contact for referrals, and providing administrative support to managers and professionals across a range of service areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for incoming referrals to Children’s Services, screening, processing and prioritising information in line with legislation, service criteria and departmental procedures.
- Collecting, recording and sharing information to support assessments and decision-making, including liaising with internal and external agencies.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating electronic systems, databases and spreadsheets to support operational activity, performance monitoring and inspections.
- Producing reports, validating data and supporting requests for statistical information and Freedom of Information enquiries.
- Undertaking a range of administrative duties including telephone enquiries, document preparation, scanning, filing, typing and organising meetings.
- Providing business support to managers and professionals whilst ensuring compliance with confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
- The tasks undertaken within this role may support different areas across the Records and Data Section, and duties may change to meet service requirements.
Skills and qualifications required:
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English.
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and information-recording skills.
- Ability to work accurately with highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Emotional resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure when dealing with challenging and distressing information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The assignment is for 22.5 hours per week and is fixed-term until 31st March 2027. The role is based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, with hybrid working available following induction and training. Candidates should live locally or within a reasonable commuting distance.
