Job Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join Children’s Social Care on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Work professional with proven management experience to lead a frontline children’s social care team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-focused services while maintaining statutory responsibilities and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of qualified social workers and support staff.
- Provide effective case oversight to ensure children and families receive timely, high-quality interventions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, safeguarding procedures, and local authority policies.
- Monitor team performance, caseloads, and service delivery to achieve agreed targets and outcomes.
- Chair professional meetings, strategy discussions, and case reviews where appropriate.
- Support staff development through regular supervision, performance management, and coaching.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and implement best practice across the team.
- Manage resources effectively and ensure accurate recording and reporting of case activity.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a social work team.
- Strong knowledge of relevant children’s legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and statutory guidance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
