Job Details
Work Pattern: 37 hours a week, (Mon – Fri)
PAYE Pay Rate: £17.47 per hour
Job Purpose
To work with local employers and businesses to create and coordinate employment opportunities for Working Denbighshire participants, including work experience, work placements, apprenticeships, work trials and employment opportunities.
Typical Day Overview
A typical day will involve:
- Contacting and meeting local employers to identify new job and work placement opportunities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with businesses and partner organisations.
- Discussing employer recruitment and skills requirements.
- Matching Working Denbighshire participants with suitable vacancies, placements and work trials.
- Supporting participants with interview preparation and workplace expectations.
- Organising employer events, jobs fairs and careers activities.
- Working with training providers to coordinate training and employment opportunities.
- Completing employer health and safety checks, risk assessments and placement agreements.
- Updating records and monitoring employment outcomes.
- Attending meetings with internal teams and external partners.
- Managing a varied workload while working towards agreed employment targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local employers and businesses.
- Identify and generate new employment, work placement and work experience opportunities.
- Promote Working Denbighshire services to employers and external partners.
- Work with employers to understand their recruitment and skills needs.
- Support participants with interview preparation and workplace expectations.
- Organize and deliver jobs fairs, careers events and employer activities.
- Work with training providers and partners to develop employment programmes.
- Complete employer health and safety checks, agreements and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records, monitoring information and confidential data.
- Prepare reports, presentations and performance updates.
- Work towards agreed employment and service targets.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, statutory agencies, voluntary organizations and private-sector partners.
- Follow Council policies relating to safeguarding, equality, health and safety, data protection and lone working.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working with employers and businesses.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience generating new business or employment opportunities.
- Good negotiation and influencing skills.
- Understanding of employment barriers and supporting people into work.
- Ability to manage workloads, meet targets and maintain accurate records.
- Experience working with public, private and voluntary-sector organizations.
- Good understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- HNC level or equivalent in Business Studies, or relevant experience in HR, Recruitment, CSR or Engagement.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Two satisfactory references covering three years of employment.
- DBS check may be required where appropriate.
