Job Details

Work pattern: 3 days in the office

PAYE Pay Rate: £30 – £43 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide professional surveying and technical advice on building repairs, adaptations and improvement works. To manage projects from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality.

Typical Day

  • Inspect properties and identify building defects and repair requirements.

  • Prepare specifications, schedules of work and cost estimates.

  • Manage and monitor contractors and building works.

  • Visit sites to check progress, quality and compliance.

  • Liaise with residents, contractors and internal teams.

  • Monitor budgets, programmes and contractor performance.

  • Assist with tenders, quotations and procurement.

  • Keep up to date with legislation, regulations and sustainable building practices.

  • Resolve technical issues and provide professional advice.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs and maintenance.

  • Ability to diagnose building defects and recommend solutions.

  • Good project and contractor management skills.

  • Understanding of budgets, procurement and tendering.

  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and Building Regulations.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Good organisation and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property or a related discipline.

  • Relevant experience in building surveying, repairs or construction.

  • Experience managing contractors and building projects.

  • Knowledge of building regulations, legislation and health & safety.

  • Experience preparing specifications and tender documents.

  • Good IT and communication skills.

  • Full UK driving license, where required.
