Work Pattern: 40 per week, Mon – Fri

PAYE Pay Rate:  £20.30 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality electrical repairs, maintenance, testing and inspection services to residents, internal teams and partners. The role will involve diagnosing electrical issues, completing repairs and ensuring all work meets relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Typical Day

  • Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and installations in residential properties.
  • Complete electrical testing, inspections and surveys.
  • Undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) where required.
  • Investigate faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
  • Complete void property inspections and electrical checks.
  • Produce accurate reports and records of completed work.
  • Liaise with residents, colleagues and contractors professionally.
  • Respond to emergency/out-of-hours work when required.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety and electrical regulations.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance and/or installation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical repairs, testing and inspection.
  • Experience working within residential/social housing or a repairs environment is desirable.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs safely.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to complete accurate reports and documentation.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional Out of Hours work.

Essential Qualifications

Electrical Installation – one of the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation + AM2
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2
  • City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3
  • City & Guilds 2365 Levels 2 & 3 + AM2
  • City & Guilds 2357 + AM2
  • Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification 2346 + AM2E

Inspection & Testing – one of the following:

  • City & Guilds 2391 Periodic Inspection & Testing
  • City & Guilds 2395 Inspection & Testing

Wiring Regulations:

  • City & Guilds 2382-18/20 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Driving:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Minimum 2 years’ driving experience.
  • No more than 6 points on licence.
  • No serious motoring offences within the last 10 years.
