Umbrella: £21.19 per hour
JOB PURPOSE
To contribute to the design, delivery, and performance of commissioned youth training programmes. To ensure the provision of engaging learning within the relevant subject area, and to prepare, deliver, assess, and evaluate courses to the standards required by the service and Awarding Organisations. To ensure all administrative procedures relating to learner and class delivery are completed accurately and in line with agreed compliance-based targets.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Programme Design & Delivery
-
Design, deliver, and develop appropriate and relevant learning to promote positive progression of learners.

Plan learning and assessment processes with learners.

Deliver personal development workshops.
-
Be responsible for the delivery and successful completion of a range of agreed qualifications, in line with programme specifications and timescales.
Learner Recruitment, Induction & Support
-
Recruit learners onto the programme.
-
Deliver induction activities, including meeting and greeting learners, completing eligibility documentation, delivering structured induction sessions, and ensuring learners understand the programme and future goals.

Build and maintain positive relationships with learners through one-to-one and group work, motivating and encouraging them to fulfil their potential.
Partnership & Progression

Collaborate with key stakeholders, partners, employers, training providers, and support agencies to ensure effective referral processes onto the programme.

Support the Manager to embed a culture of achievement among staff and young people, ensuring high retention and access to exit routes.
Performance, Quality & Compliance
-
Manage weekly and monthly checks of contractual performance targets (including performance, contractual, quality, and compliance) accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure contract requirements are met and funding is maximised.

Monitor and complete learner reviews and programme outcomes.
Policies & Safeguarding

Be aware of and implement the Council’s Equality, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding policies.

Take responsibility, in line with Safeguarding policy and procedures, to safeguard all learners on the programme.

Qualifications
Essential:
-
Educated to a minimum NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject

PTLLS, IAG, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification

Registered with the Education Workforce Council
Desirable:

QA or Internal Verification qualificatiom
Knowledge
Essential:
-
Good knowledge and current practice in the education sector

Understanding of professional boundaries when working with young people, particularly on a one-to-one basis

Extensive knowledge of working with challenging and vulnerable young people in an educational setting

Extensive knowledge of curriculum-based work with young people
-
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues
Desirable:

Knowledge of publicly funded training schemes

Knowledge of contract-based provision
Experience
Essential:

Occupational experience and technical competence in educational pathway delivery

Experience of inter-agency partnership working

Experience of working with vulnerable learners
