Job Details
We are looking for a proactive and organised Cross Service Support Officer to join our Public Protection team. This role is key to supporting services such as Private Sector Housing, Pollution Control and Licensing, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and excellent customer service.
You will be the first point of contact for enquiries, providing advice and support to residents, colleagues and partner organisations. The role also offers an opportunity to work with digital systems and data, contributing to the council’s drive to modernise and improve services.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle enquiries from the public, internal teams and external partners
- Process applications, licences, permits and complaints
- Maintain accurate records using case management systems (e.g. Idox Cloud)
- Coordinate with teams such as Licensing, Police, Fire and Health & Safety
- Arrange inspections, gather information and support enforcement processes
- Use Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Teams, Word) for tracking and reporting
- Support data analysis, reporting and performance monitoring
- Help improve digital processes and workflows
About You
- Experience in a customer-focused or administrative role
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in housing, licensing, environmental services or local government is desirable
HYBRID ROLE 2 DAYS IN OFFICE AFTER INITIAL TRAINING.
