About the Role

Caring For Thurrock, Thurrock Council’s internal care provider, is looking for an experienced Power Apps Developer to support the development and improvement of its Adult Social Care rostering system.

You will work exclusively on this project, working closely with the Caring For Thurrock Business Team and the Council’s IT department. The focus will be on completing and enhancing the existing Power Platform solution, automating processes, improving scheduling efficiency and delivering operational and financial benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve and maintain Microsoft Power Apps solutions.
  • Complete outstanding requirements and enhance the existing ASC rostering system.
  • Use Power Automate to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve short-term faults and user requests.
  • Plan and deliver longer-term improvements within agreed deadlines.
  • Work closely with business users and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure Power Platform solutions meet organisational, security and data governance requirements.
  • Support compliance with GDPR and Information/Cyber Security requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement and ensure agreed service levels are maintained.

Essential Experience

  • Hands-on experience developing Power Apps / Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Experience with Power Automate and business process automation.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 data governance, security and GDPR.
  • Experience supporting, troubleshooting and continuously improving business applications.

Desirable

  • Local authority or public sector experience.
  • Experience within Adult Social Care or workforce rostering/scheduling.
  • Experience working with existing Power Platform applications and enhancing them against changing business requirements.
