Principal Surveyor

Halton borough council are looking for an principal surveyor To support the Asset and Valuation Manager in the provision of professional advice on valuation, Land & Property Matters and asset management activities for the Council and to maintain an overview of the portfolio (operational and non operational) as the basis for the Asset Management Plan production.

 

  • To assist in the Management of the Councils Operational and Non operational estates of the Council’s property portfolio.
  • Undertake regular property portfolio reviews to meet strategic objectives.
  • To work with client departments to identify their service needs for accommodation associated resources
  • Evaluate and appraise options for the retention, disposal, use and development of Council property, providing advice on the most effective mode of action to secure its objectives.
  • Carry out asset and insurance valuations in accordance with guidance issued by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Manage and develop the Councils Industrial Portfolio including lease renewals and  rent  reviews to maximise HBC income
  • To work in conjunction with the Database Manager to ensure the property record system and asset register are accurate and up-to-date.
  • To assist in the day to day management of the Councils Property interests including responsibility for lettings viewings negotiation and instructing legal
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to which are commensurate with the grade of the job.

  • An understanding of Strategic Asset Management.

     

  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience of CPO schemes.

     

  • Experience of assisting in the implementation of successful programmes of large quantity and high value acquisitions and disposals.

     

  • A working knowledge of rating valuations
  • A detailed knowledge and experience of asset valuations

Payrate: £26.08 umbrella
