About the Service
Cardiff Council’s 24/7 Services unit operates an accredited Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Control Room, using a range of technologies to monitor and connect with sites across the city.
The service is currently undergoing significant transformation, including the relocation of the service and the upgrade of its video management system platform.
About the Role
As a Project Support Officer, you will support the delivery and implementation of strategic technology projects that support the Council’s priorities. This includes working with systems such as wireless networks, GDX systems, CCTV, security technology, and alarm receiving systems.
You will support the relocation of the service, as well as the planning, development, and management of wider business change projects. You will help ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality requirements.
These projects will contribute to improving services for Cardiff residents, supporting housing services, and creating opportunities for efficiency savings and income generation.
What We Are Looking For
You will have experience of supporting projects and a passion for helping deliver a modern, technology-led Integrated Operations Centre for Cardiff Council’s alarm receiving and CCTV monitoring services.
You will be comfortable working in a technology-focused environment and supporting the introduction of new systems and ways of working. You will have experience working with internal teams, external partners, contractors, and stakeholders, building positive and effective working relationships.
Additional Information
- This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 2.
- This is a hybrid role, with a combination of office-based and remote working depending on service requirements.
