Your main responsibility will be to work as part of a team collecting waste from households and businesses. You will need to work safely, ensuring you use equipment appropriately and follow procedures for the collection, loading, lifting and handling, disposal of waste in compliance with service standards.
You will collect a range of materials including refuse, recycling, clinical bagged waste, bulky items, other waste or assist with skip collections. Reports waste concerns, including non-presented bins and overflowing bins as required. You will assist in recording information using technologies such as in-cab.
You will ensure a positive image is maintained by you in your interactions with members of the public and stakeholders. Works collaboratively with individuals and teams to support service delivery. Assists in the provision of information to the public on refuse collection arrangements.
You will highlight any problems regarding areas of waste or issues which could affect our ability to deliver customer focused services. You may also undertake other cleaning duties such as cleaning, snow clearing, gritting and support clear up projects as required.
To undertake your job, you will receive support and provided with appropriate training.
