Essential to have full Driving License and use of vehicle KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: 1. To assist with the preparation, review and exercising of the Council’s Emergency Plans, for the response to a Major Incident, Major Incident Standby or an Emergency situation.

2. To assist with the preparation, review and exercising of the Council’s plans required by statutory legislation (e.g. Civil Contingencies Act (2004), Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations (2015), Pipeline Safety Regulations (1996)).

3. To facilitate the debriefing process following a Major Incident / Major Incident Standby and produce Exercise Reports.

4. To liaise with External Organizations (Category 1 & 2 Responders) including Emergency Services, Health Organizations, HSE, Voluntary organizations, etc., regarding the functions covered by the Emergency Planning Team. 5

. To assist with updating the Corporate and Directorate Business Continuity Plans, including the validation process.

6. To arrange and present seminars and exercises for the Council and other relevant organizations, to improve and refine the Council’s response.

7. To ensure records of Emergency Planning training and exercises, involving the Council are maintained.

8. To facilitate the updating of the Local Authority Emergency Centers.

9. To provide specialist technical advice to the Council and other Council Departments, participating in senior level multi-discipline officer working groups, both internal and external.

10. To ensure the Public Information Strategy is established and maintained before, during and after incidents in line with the Cheshire Resilience Forum Media Framework.

11. To be part of the Council’s on-call duty rotas for response to Major Incident and Major Incident Standby and to act as Staff Officer (if required) or as a member of the Council’s emergency response team.

 

The pay rate per day is £2oo.
