Purpose of Job To provide quality THOR based volume crime investigations, where deployment is not necessary, allowing Hampshire Constabulary’s resources to be targeted at high harm incidents. Key Accountabilities 1. Clearly and accurately record crimes and related information using RMS and ensuring compliance with HOCR and CDI. 2. Assess volume crimes using the THOR model to decide on the viability of further investigation. 3. Identify and assess any vulnerability or risk associated with victims, witnesses, or suspects, throughout the investigation, and take appropriate safeguarding measures. 4. Consider whether forensic deployment is required and task accordingly in a timely manner. 5. Investigate occurrences promptly and effectively, seeking positive outcomes for victims of crime. 6. Identify, gather, retain and effectively utilise relevant material, including information and intelligence in support of investigations. 7. Utilise third sector and other agency referrals to support the vulnerable and to reduce demand. 8. Adhere to the Victims code in relation to Victim Contact Agreements, ensuring that appropriate contact is maintained throughout the investigation, expectations are managed and outcomes are communicated in a timely manner. 9. Ensure that Out of Court Disposals are used where they are believed to be appropriate and effective, providing reparation to victims wherever possible. 10. Prepare high quality handovers in agreed timescales and maintain cooperative relationships with other departments and partner agencies. 11. To assist in the mentoring and assessment of less experienced colleagues as requested. 12. To give regular and effective service. The role profile itself may be amended from time to time within the scope and general level of responsibility attached to the post. Additional Requirements Maintain personal responsibility for collection, recording, evaluation, information sharing, review, retention and disposal of information in compliance with codes of practice and Guidance in the Management of Information, Information Security Policy, procedures and legislation. Work a rotating shift pattern between the hours of 0700 – 2200, including weekends, with a requirement to work 37 hpw (police staff) The role holder may be required to visit other locations within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and therefore needs to have the ability to travel as necessary. You will be required to adhere to the uniform dress code as laid down in the Force Policy. Carry out fire warden duties to meet required standards if required.

ROLE PROFILE Part2 CVF Recruitment Competencies TempForce Education/ Qualifications Essential: Competent Constable or staff Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes including English Language) OR work experience deemed to have brought the potholder to a comparable level. Desirable: n/s Experience and Skills Essential: Experience in a busy work environment, involving:

• Frequent people contact, particularly on the telephone, including handling difficult callers and sensitive matters.

• Experience of working in a pressurized and reactive environment.

• Investigative experience

• Familiarity with computerized systems, including regular use of a keyboard.

• Interpersonal skills working with internal members of staff and communicating effectively with members of public.

Desirable:

• Good geographic knowledge of Hampshire & Isle of Wight.

• Knowledge of the Hampshire Constabulary organization and structure, including its computer systems. • Knowledge of Call Management operating procedures and graded response.
