Job Title: RIS Registered Manager – Reablement and Independence Service
Location: Office based 3 days per week
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday (on-call as required)
Role Overview
The Registered Manager for the Reablement and Independence Service (RIS) will lead and manage a dedicated team delivering high-quality, short-term support that enables individuals to regain confidence, independence, and control over their daily lives.
The role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the service, ensuring care is safe, effective, person-centred, and compliant with regulatory standards set by the Care Quality Commission. The post holder will work collaboratively with health and social care partners to support timely hospital discharges and promote smooth transitions into the reablement service.
This is a key leadership position focused on delivering positive outcomes for service users while developing a motivated and skilled workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Service Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operational management of the Reablement and Independence Service.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
- Support individuals transitioning from hospital or other care settings back into their homes and communities.
- Ensure services operate effectively seven days a week.
Team Management
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to staff across the service.
- Manage performance, development, and training to maintain a confident and capable workforce.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on delivering outstanding care.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure the service meets all regulatory requirements and quality standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
- Lead audits, service monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure robust governance across the service.
Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, social workers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
- Support effective discharge planning and transitions into reablement services.
Service Improvement
- Use performance data, audits, and service user feedback to drive service improvements.
- Promote a strengths-based approach to care that supports independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective workforce planning.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, risk management, and safeguarding practices.
- Ensure the service delivers high-quality outcomes for all service users.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in a leadership or management role within adult social care or community care services.
- Strong understanding of reablement, independence services, or community-based care.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards within social care.
- Experience managing staff performance, supervision, and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with health and social care partners.
Desirable
- Qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Level 5 or equivalent).
- Experience working within reablement or hospital discharge services.
- Experience managing regulated services and maintaining compliance with the Care Quality Commission.
