Job Details
• Work directly with children and young people to support their personal development by providing appropriate programmes of activities, services and facilities
• Support events, activities and supervise children and young people using play facilities ensuring that said facilities operate effectively so that the provision contributes to the service and departmental objectives. • Support the development and delivery of a programme of positive activities, enjoyable and interesting to the children and young people taking part in them. • Take part in consultations with children and young people to ensure their voices are included in programmes and service activity. • Ensure the maintenance of agreed records including user registers, contacts and accident books. • Support the promotion of the service and activities within the locality. • Support the work of the play workers and senior worker. • Have due regard to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people and to follow and implement the child protection procedures adopted by Southwark Safeguarding Children’s Board and the Service Safeguarding Policy. • Participate in training and personal development activities which are appropriate to the role, to meet statutory and departmental requirements. • The ability to communicate clear instructions • Good listening skills • Able to work independently and within a team environment • Able to cope with the physical demands of the role, including light bending, stretching, moving, carrying equipment as required. • Confident in the use of computers and the internet Location to cover all 3 adventure playgrounds, Mint Street, Peckham and Ellen Brown, depending on the requirements of the service Working schedule Tuesday to Friday 3pm to 7pm, Saturdays 11 am to 5 pm, 22 hours per week, term time Half term Monday to Friday 11 am to 5 pm 30 hours excluding bank holidays
